And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’ Job 28:28
A man is wise when he truly understands how unworthy and small he is in the presence of the One who created the universe around him.
When one realises this, all he would do is to bow down and worship and submit to Him to whom all things belong. As the hymn writer put it, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full on His wonderful face. And the things of this world will look vainly pale, in the light of His glory and grace.”
And the mystery of it all…..even the ability to realise this is a gift from God…how can a truly wise man ever be proud of his understanding?
