Job 8:20-22 – Do not judge your brethren when they are afflicted…

Behold, God will not cast away the blameless, Nor will He uphold the evildoers. He will yet fill your mouth with laughing, And your lips with rejoicing. Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, And the dwelling place of the wicked will come to nothing.”      – Job 8:20-22

These words by Bildad the Shuhite are correct. But they were spoken in the wrong context – against Job.

Job had not done anything wrong. But he was afflicted. And the reason was simply because God was testing Job and was about to bring about better things than Job can imaging for himself.

The lesson learnt is that we should not judge our brethren when they are afflicted because we do not see the invisible hand of God working things and we will never understand the true picture of things.
